What We Look For

Flight Centre is always expanding. This means we’re continually on the look out for motivated and enthusiastic people to join our team.

What does sales mean to you? Hard sell, Soft sell, Cold calling? Business Development? Account Management? Pounding the pavement door-to-door or on the phone making and taking calls to potential clients? Sales means very different things to different people doesn't it?

Our In-Store positions have a strong sales and customer service focus. As an international Travel consultant with Flight Centre you'll be dealing with all aspects of leisure and occasional business travel. You will be completely responsible for managing the travel needs of your own client base. Ideally we are looking for people who have plenty of their own travel stories. The more you have experienced the easier it is to help others explore the same! Yes that's right, we're passionate about travel and we know there are more people out there who feel the same way.

Our Brand is very strong and that keeps people flowing through the shop doors...to see you! So half the sales job has already been done for you and the buying motivation is there. Travel is the product that almost sells itself!!! So if you’ve had experience managing expectations in a customer service or sales environment, you could be just what we’re looking for!

On top of that commission adding to your pay packet, there are fun monthly awards nights for each area, so everyone can share in the success.

If you manage a Flight Centre retail store you can choose to enter into a Business Ownership Scheme, that is, buy a portion of the profit of the store you manage and share in its success.

To be considered for a Travel Consultant role you’ll need to meet the following minimum criteria…

  • Experience in a sales environment/customer care environment
  • Solid academic background (ideally with a tertiary qualification)
  • A passion for travel, demonstrated by personal travel experience
  • Self-motivation with a desire to build your own client base
  • The right to work in New Zealand

We also have a wide variety of other support roles to back up our sales teams. Therefore, opportunities to progress into areas of the business such as marketing, finance, IT, and HR, are widely encouraged. If you’re interested in a career as a Corporate Travel Consultant with our corporate travel management brand, FCm Travel Solutions, you’ll also need at least one year experience as a Travel Consultant.
